Many parents assume that ski resorts are a risky place to take their kids on vacation. The thought of skiers whooshing past at break neck speed, high ski lifts, crazy snow boarders and freezing temperatures can be scary, but with some preparation a family can enjoy an exciting skiing holiday together with no hassles.

It's important to find the best ski resorts and ensure that they offer plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. If you have young children you should check that the resort has a creche or babysitting facilities before booking. Families should consider going to a dry ski slope before the trip to get a little practice in. Also, make sure to get the right clothes for everyone. Wearing layers is very important, and the top layer should always be waterproof to ensure no wet bottoms if there are any falls.
